The simple ways of life - getting your hands dirty - growing your own food - feeding the animals that will sustain you in return - a simple sunset - loving and hugging those family members that mean so much to you....
Nowadays, I have slowed down, and am enjoying taking care of myself and those that mean the most to me. I have learned that living a life where there is something to live for is so much more important than trying to be seen by others, just to be seen. I want to be as independent as possible. And Andrew is helping me get there. We have agreed that simple living is the best living. Growing food and doing things on our own and giving thanks to the One who has allowed us to do so means so much more. I am excited to see what the coming months will bring to our small idea of a future homestead. Eventually we would love to see so much come from the garden we grow and the animals we harvest. Until then, we are going to focus on doing one thing at a time, ensuring that when we do something, it is done right. I can't wait to accomplish every adventure. We have enjoyed learning from Jason Smith from Cog Hill Farms. He has an EXCELLENT YouTube channel. If you have ever wondered about becoming self-sufficient, I highly recommend that you check out his channel.
I have managed to update a room in my new Calvert Casa. It still needs crown molding and a newer cabinet, but I did paint which has made it look so much better. I am loving how everything is coming together.
I spent a couple of hours with the strongest man I know today. My Grandpa David is my whole world. He is enduring a lot of stuff right now. I hope that he always remembers his baby girl, his pooter head, his fart knocker. I hate seeing him in this situation. I promise to always love him, support him, and show him that when the world is ugly, he will always have a bright spot in me.
Over the past several months, I have been able to take a step back and evaluate what is truly important. My life once consisted of filling up an agenda and being at every social function imaginable. I had this assumption that to live was to go, go, go. However, in twelve months my life has completely changed, for the better.
