This total solar eclipse business has, quite frankly, been driving me insane. If I have to hear, "Do you have any Solar Eclipse glasses?" one more time, I might lose my nuts & bolts. I'm kidding, of course. I have enjoyed seeing all of the "out-of-towners" come visit our "Friendly City" today and hope they have enjoyed our small community. It is amusing to me to see that so many people have traveled from near and far to view this once in a life time event. Of all places, for Scottsville, KY to be a stopping grounds for "totality" makes me feel very fortunate. Had this happen elsewhere, you wouldn't see me traveling for hours and hours just to witness the eclipse. I love that I can step right outside the library doors and take in what is happening above. And I do feel privileged that I can direct those who want to view the eclipse and make them feel at home for the short time that they are here in our small town.
As I experienced this phenomenon today, I couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of thankfulness. It reminded me of the scripture in Amos 8:9:
I have family that came down from Indiana to experience the #GreatAmericanTotalEclipse2017. It just so happened to be their anniversary, so we got to celebrate with them yesterday. I love spending time with my family and catch up with the ones whom we so seldom see. It is my hope that many more visits will occur with Aunt Margie, Uncle Gene, and cousin Delbert. Uncle Roger came up from Tennessee to visit with his sister and brother-in-law. We are a fun bunch, and I wouldn't trade them for anything that this big old world could offer.
My heart is full today. Full of His goodness, full of love for family and friends, and full of excitement as I can say that I was able to witness the Total Solar Eclipse.

"And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord God, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day;"
I believe that no one truly knows when the ends of all things will occur. That responsibility is thankfully left to the one who created all. However, prophesy is being fulfilled every single day, and moments like today make me believe more than ever that God is doing a marvelous work. How awesome is it that He has allowed us to experience His almighty power?!
I am blessed to have been able to share this day with some lovely ladies, those that I work with at the library. It was nice to take a two hour break and reflect on the day & discuss the peculiarities as they were happening. Watching the sky fade from light to dark to light is something that I will never forget. Totality was absolutely amazing. Yes, I can say that the past few weeks with all the hype of the eclipse has made me crazy, but after being able to watch it and realize just how mesmerizing it really is, I take back all of those silly remarks. Those who traveled, I can see why you did so. It was breathtaking!
